A Dystopian Satire Novella
Inspired by the 300th anniversary of Gulliver’s Travels
In a world where every behavior is micromanaged and even colors are regulated for maximum social harmony, some people — and not-quite-people — just don’t fit.
Meet the Uncommons: a malfunctioning compliance bot, a dog who’s seen too much, a defiant young rebel, an unconventional woman driven by her obsession for knowledge, and the last man of his kind. Each of them is an anomaly in their own “perfect” city — misfits in civilizations that have erased conflict by sterilizing freedom.
Together, they set out on a forbidden journey across domed utopias, sterile megacities, and algorithm-driven theocracies — in search of the ultimate perfect world. But the closer they get to paradise, the more dystopia they uncover. Because in a society built on absolute order, nonconformity is the greatest rebellion.
With biting wit and imaginative worldbuilding, Nature Against is an experimental, genre-blending homage to Gulliver’s Travels — where Jonathan Swift meets Aldous Huxley and Margaret Atwood on a twisted road trip through the ruins of our past, present and the illusions of our future.
A novella-in-progress, Nature Against explores the price of obedience, the burden of perfection, and the chaotic joy of simply being... wrong.
